Turkish, Greek Foreign Ministers Meet in Sofia on SEECP Sidelines
A statement from Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry said the meeting took place during the summit, where both sides discussed bilateral relations and broader regional cooperation.
Diplomatic sources said the talks focused on Türkiye–Greece relations as well as coordination on regional issues in Southeast Europe.
Fidan also held a separate meeting with Denis Bećirović, the chair of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Bosniak member of the tripartite presidency, during the summit.
In his remarks, Fidan addressed concerns over a draft maritime jurisdiction bill currently under discussion in the Turkish parliament, stating that it is an internal legislative matter. He emphasized that Türkiye respects international law and maintains good neighborly relations.
He also said Ankara expects the same approach from neighboring countries and described as unfortunate comments made by some parties based on what he called incomplete information about the proposed legislation.
